Secondary 1

(Theme: Discovery)

Our secondary 1 students are introduced and exposed to the world of electronics. As part of the curriculum, students create electronic designs and learn simple coding language

Project Work – “Fashion Electronics”

During Project Work lessons, our Secondary 1 students learn about wearable technologies and how these technologies are applied in the fashion industry. Examples of fashion technologies designed include glow-in-the-dark tie and shoes adorned with blinking LED (light-emitting diode) strips!

National Science Experiment 2015

Our school is one of the secondary schools which participated in Singapore’s National Science Experiment. The Experiment, named “Step Out for Science” aims to raise students’ interest in STEM. Students carry a portable sensor, called “SENSg” to explore the use of pervasive sensing and Big Data. Besides supporting Singapore’s recently launched Smart Nation Initiative, the data aggregated at National Level is useful for Singapore’s urban planning. As part of the Experiment, our teachers developed a learning trail at the Cloud Forest (Gardens by the Bay). The students were engaged in using the SENSg devices as part of experiential learning. Our students had fun learning about the environment through data!
